The Lady Govs enter Tuesday’s contest still seeking their season’s first win away from the Dunn Center.

Austin Peay returned home winless from the Southern Miss Thanksgiving Invitational, last weekend.

APSU dropped a nine-point, 80-71, decision to host Southern Miss before falling to Oral Roberts, 73-60.

The losses extended Austin Peay’s losing streak away from the Dunn Center to seven games.

APSU's Tiasha GrayJunior guard Tiasha Gray was named to the Southern Miss all-tournament team after posting consecutive 20-point outings and setting a school record with eight steals against Oral Roberts. Senior guard Kristen Stainback averaged 15 points in the two contests as she shot 54.5 percent from the floor, including 75 percent (9-of-12) inside the three-point arc. Sophomore Tearra Banks averaged 14 points and 5.5 rebounds during the trip.

That trio leads Austin Peay in scoring after four games – Gray with 19.2 points per game, Banks at 16.6 and Stainback at 13.7 per game. Gray also ranks fourth nationally with 27 steals in six games (4.5 steals per game).

APSU returns four starters among 10 letterwinners from last season’s squad. That group includes the Lady Govs top five in both scoring and rebounding. Despite the large number of returnees, the projected APSU starting five includes one senior, one junior and three sophomores – still a relatively young squad.
