When the 109th General Assembly convenes in Nashville on January 13th, 2015, Johnson will be elected for a second term as Speaker Pro Tempore.

“It is very humbling to once again be entrusted by my friends in Nashville with such an important task,” said Representative Johnson.  The Speaker Pro Tempore serves as the presiding officer in the absence of the Speaker of the House.

“This is a perfect role for Representative Johnson and I am confident he will continue to serve both our Caucus and the people of Tennessee to the absolute best of his ability,” said House Caucus Chairman Glen Casada. “I look forward to continuing to work with Speaker Johnson on the important issues facing our state.”
