Clarksville Police Department requests Public’s Help with Attempted Carjacking

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Detective Nick Newman is investigating an Attempted Carjacking that occurred on December 5th, 2014 between the times of 10:15pm and 10:37pm.

The victim stated that the two suspects asked him to take them to the store to get a cigar. The victim picked the suspects up on Poston Street and took them to a store on Kraft Street. The suspects then asked the victim to take them to a friend’s house. The suspects instructed the victim to turn left off of Kraft Street onto Parham Drive.

Soon after the victim turned onto Parham Drive (approximately 10:15pm); the suspects told him to stop the vehicle. Suspect 1 was sitting behind the victim in the back seat and put a handgun to the right side of his head.

The victim grabbed the gun and pushed it towards suspect 2, who was sitting in the front passenger side seat. Suspect 2 punched the victim in the right side of his face.

The victim asked the suspects what they wanted, and they told him to get out of the car. The victim told them okay and jumped out of the car and ran through the Lincoln Homes area to his house. The victim stated once he got home he called 911.

The vehicle was found on Parham Drive at 10:46pm by Police. The vehicle was found unoccupied and had not been moved from the location that the victim had left it. The vehicle had a manual transmission and it is likely that the suspects did not know how to operate it.

The victim stated that suspect 1 was a light skinned black male wearing a gray beanie hat. Suspect 2 was a medium skinned black male wearing a white t-shirt and a jacket. The victim stated the gun felt like a semi-automatic handgun.

Later, the victim was informed by someone in the Lincoln Homes area that one of the suspects could be a female posing as a male, but that information has not been confirmed.
