Indoor Aquatic Center to begin Homeschool Swim Days

The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a new event for homeschooled children at the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane. Homeschool Swim Days will be held from 10:00am to noon on the second Wednesday of each month, beginning January 14th, 2015.

Kleeman Center to host spring cycle of its popular fitness class

The Kleeman Community Center will continue its Fun Interval Training program in 2015. F.I.T.’s second session ends on January 15th, but will start back up for a third round on January 26th, continuing through March 26th at the Kleeman Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane. The class will meet Monday through Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Each day of the week focuses on a different muscle group and cardio activity to get your blood pumping and burn those calories! This program combines the attention of a personal trainer with the support of a small group fitness class.

The cost for the entire eight-week cycle is $65, and space is limited. Register now by visiting recpro.cityofclarksville.com and selecting “Lessons, Courses, and Camps” from the left-hand tab. From there, select the Kleeman Center tab and register from home! Registration is also available at all three community centers or our Main Office, 102 Public Square.

Spring Adult Softball Meeting Scheduled

Registration for Adult Spring Softball leagues begins soon with an organizational meeting scheduled for 3:00pm on January 24th at the Burt-Cobb Community Center. League participants, to include coaches, sanctioning representatives, and umpires are invited to attend. Clarksville Parks and Recreation will be kicking off our spring and summer recreation leagues with registration beginning January 26th.

Community Centers to close temporarily

Clarksville Parks and Recreation would like to remind citizens that our community centers will be closing temporarily to conduct their annual maintenance period.

The Kleeman Center, 166 Cunningham Lane, will be closed January 12th-18th and the Burt-Cobb Center, 1101 Franklin Street, will be closed February 9th-15th. Centers will return to their normal operating hours the Monday following their annual maintenance period.

Each Center will be receiving paint touchups and upgrades to their tile flooring. Be sure to check out the completed project once each center reopens! Community Center IDs are valid at all three community centers, so feel free to stop by the other two centers during annual maintenance times.
