National Weather Service issues Wind Chill Advisory for Clarksville – Montgomery County

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind chill advisory this afternoon into Thursday morning for the Clarksville-Montgomery County area and Middle Tennessee.

An arctic cold front will move through Middle Tennessee today bringing gusty north winds of 15 to 25 mph and temperatures falling into the teens and single digits. These gusty winds combined with the very cold temperatures will cause wind chills well below zero at times.

Starting this afternoon, Clarksville-Montgomery County will be under a wind chill advisory until Thursday morning.

The wind chill advisory in effect from 3:00pm this afternoon to 9:00am CST Thursday.

Wind chill values are expect to be zero to 10 below zero.

A wind chill advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors, make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
