Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

This weeks highlights include: Community Center IDs, Silver Splash, Chocolate Affair Seeks Vendors, and Try Zumba.

2015 Chocolate Affair

Community Center IDs

The New Year has begun, and now is the perfect time to purchase a Community Center ID. Our IDs are only $5.00, and are valid for an entire year at all three of our centers! We offer programs for all ages and all interests. There are even after school programs available for your family. Families with multiple children are eligible for discounted pricing.

Our Community Centers include Burt-Cobb Center, located at 1011 Franklin Street, Crow Center, located at 211 Richview Road, and Kleeman Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane. Calling all adults ages 50 and up!

Looking for a way to improve your agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance? Try the Indoor Aquatic Center’s Silver Splash class. No swimming ability is required. Classes meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00am to 10:45am. The cost per class is $2.00 for pool pass holders, or $4.00 without.

Silver Fitness- our centers have reserved days and times where adults, ages 50 and up, can make full use of the gym and workout room, while it is closed to the general public. Cost is free, but a center ID card ($5.00/year) is required.

Kleeman: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10:00am to 11:00am and Saturday from 9:00am to 10:00am

Crow: Monday & Wednesday from 9:00am to 10:00am and Friday from 10:00am to 11:00am

Burt-Cobb: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 6:45am to 8:00am

Chocolate Affair Seeks Vendors

Happening Saturday, February 7th, 2015 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, Clarksville’s 3rd Annual Chocolate Affair is a festive occasion that provides an opportunity for chocolate-lovers to sample products and enjoy a fun social event. Don’t pass up this fabulous opportunity to let your business shine!

Try Zumba!

Ditch the workout and join the Zumba fitness party at the Burt-Cobb Community Center, located at 1101 Franklin Street! Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm

Zumba fitness classes combine Latin dance with hip hop dance and other exotic music flavors. Routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. No experience is necessary, just wear athletic shoes and come prepared to burn calories. Classes are $3.00 per class.
