Tennessee Quota Hunts:

  • April 11-12; Youth hunt (for hunters 6-16 years old)

Hunting provides unique recreational opportunities within the region and helps maintain a healthy wildlife population. To improve the quality of turkey quota hunts, Land Between The Lakes reduced the number of quota permits for each hunt. Applicants can check the quota hunt website, lblquotahunt.hometracker.com/, at the end of March to see if they were drawn.

The non-quota hunting season, which does not require prior application, runs for fourteen days, April 20th-May 3rd in Kentucky. Two seven-day hunts occur in Tennessee April 20th-26th and April 27th-May 3rd.

Hunters harvesting a turkey in either state on a Land Between The Lakes quota hunt may now hunt the first week of the Tennessee non-quota hunt. As always, a state license and Land Between The Lakes Hunter Use Permits are required. Hunter Use Permits may be purchased online at www.landbetweenthelakes.us/reservations/.

The Land Between The Lakes Recreation Map is available showing hunt area boundaries, and may be purchased at facilities for $3.00 or viewed online for free at www.landbetweenthelakes.us/visit/maps/. The 2015 Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) will also be available online, or printed copies may be obtained at Golden Pond Visitor Center.

Hunters will want to be sure to refer to the Motor Vehicle Use Map when scouting and hunting on Land Between The Lakes as licensed motorized vehicles are only permitted on roads identified on the MVUM.
