Rossview High School HawksServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – After dropping its first District 10-AAA game of the season three days ago, Rossview High School’s girls basketball team bounded back in a big way, Friday, January 16th, in defeating Northwest High School by 25 points, 49-24.

Rossview would build its opening lead out to 13 points, 16-3, 17 seconds into the second quarter following a bucket by Mickey Head.

Northwest (3-16, 1-7 District 10-AAA) answered back with 3s by Alexis Walton and Taylor Senseney, which sandwiched a bucket by Karle Pace; to cut the Lady Hawks lead under 10 points for the final time, 18-9, with 4:11 left before intermission.

Pace would lead all scorers with 16 points – the only player on either team to break into double figures.

Jemiah Harrison would then score back-to-back baskets for Rossview to put them back up 13 points, 22-9 with 2:52 left in the quarter, as they slowly build that lead out to 15 points at halftime, 27-12.

Harrison, also with Head, would just miss out on reaching double figures for the Lady Hawks with eight points each.

The two teams would come out of intermission and play their most competitive quarter of the game in the third period, with both teams trading buckets back-and-fourth – with the exception of Rossview getting back-to-back baskets from Haylee Croom and Pace just over a minute into the quarter — in outscoring the Lady Vikings 10-9 to lead 37-21.

Much like the first quarter of play, the final eight minutes as all Rossview, with the Lady Hawks not giving up a field goal to the Lady Vikings in the period; while scoring 12 points to take its biggest lead of the game – 26 points with two minutes left – before settling for a 25-point victory, 49-24.

The two teams continue to District 10-AAA action on January 20th, with Northwest traveling to Northeast High School; while Rossview travels to Clarksville High School for a showdown between the two top teams in the district standings.

Both games are scheduled for a 6:00pm tipoff.
