Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team returned to action against Middle Tennessee, Friday, but were swept by the Blue Raiders, 7-0, at Nashboro Village Athletic Club. The Lady Govs drop to 0-2 on the young season while Middle Tennessee improves to 3-1.
At the No. 2 slot, the pairing of senior Vanessa Tavares and freshman Brittney Covington fell 3-6, to the team of Tiffany William and Darya Shulzhanok.
In singles play, the Lady Govs were unable to force a third set in any match. Karac dropped her match at the No. 6 position to the Blue Raiders’ Nayara Moraes 4-6, 6-1. At the No. 5 slot, Jovanovic lost to Brittney Huxley 3-6, 2-6.
The Lady Govs return the court when they travel to Evansville, 7:00pm, Friday January 30th at the Tri-State Athletic Club.
