NWS reports Wintry Travel Conditions possible for Clarksville – Montgomery County Sunday Night and Monday Morning

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) says a storm system will move across Clarksville-Montgomery County and the mid state area Sunday and Monday.

Rainy and mild weather on Sunday will turn much colder Sunday night into Monday and some light snow may develop. At this time, possible snow accumulations could range from a dusting over southwest Middle Tennessee to one inch for the higher elevations of the Upper Cumberland.

Areas in between and including Nashville may have a dusting to one half inch.

These amounts are early estimates and will likely be adjusted with updated forecasts through the weekend.

Temperatures are expected to drop below the freezing mark across all of the mid state late Sunday night, so any snow that falls or leftover moisture from the rain on Sunday could cause slick travel conditions.

People with travel plans for late Sunday night and those planning for the Monday morning commute will want to monitor updated forecasts through the weekend.
