Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSURock Hill, SC – Austin Peay State University’s softball team couldn’t shake off the rust of a 15-day weather induced layoff Saturday, February 28th in the opening day of the Winthrop Adidas Tournament, with the Lady Govs falling to Appalachian State 13-7 and to Winthrop 11-3.

Austin Peay State University Governors Baseball drops doubleheader to Western Michigan Broncos

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team saw its pitching suffer a rough day and dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Western Michigan, 9-3 and 12-8, Saturday at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Austin Peay (4-4) led 2-1 after four innings in the day’s first game, but again left runs on the base paths.

Fort Campbell Outdoor Recreation Indoor Climbing Wall Open Climb, March 7th

 

Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – Join Outdoor Recreation at the Indoor Climbing Wall for an open climb session on March 7th from 10:00am until 2:00pm.

Open climbs are available to participants who have been climbing before and are familiar with the equipment.

The cost is $10.00 per person (equipment will be provided for those who do not have their own).

Austin Peay State University Men’s Basketball coach Dave Loos to return for 25th Season

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TNDave Loos, Austin Peay State University’s longtime men’s basketball coach and the Ohio Valley Conference’s all-time wins leader, will return for his 26th season as Governors head man in 2015-16.

That announcement was made Saturday night by APSU’s Athletics Director’s Derek van der Merwe.

Clarksville, TN – This is a true story but the names of the people have been changed.

By the time I met them, both Jack and Alice were in their senior years. Originally from Chicago, Jack was a retired high school counselor and Alice still taught voice lessons in their home. Jack was short, bald and a bit rotund; he had an amazing mind and a great sense of humor. Alice was petite, had wavy white hair, and had a pleasant smile for everyone.

APSU geology and biology students help restore endangered ecosystems

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – In January, seven female Austin Peay State University students traveled south to help restore a disappearing ecosystem in Texas’ West Gulf Coastal Plain.

The students, all geology and biology majors, spent five days hiking through the swampy terrain of the Roy E. Larsen Sandyland Sanctuary, planting some 11,000 longleaf pine trees.

Clarksville Police Department releases Alcoholic Beverage Commission Operation results from February 26th, 2015

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday, February 26th, 2015 Agents of the Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Control in conjunction with Alcohol Beverage Control Agents of the Clarksville Police Department’s Special Operations Unit conducted operations targeting the sale of alcohol to underage persons.
