Austin Peay Sports Information
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team returned to action against East Tennessee, Sunday, but were swept by the Bucs, 7-0, at Austin Peay Indoor Tennis Center.
In doubles action for Austin Peay (0-4), the duo of senior Jovanna Karac and sophomore Isabela Jovanovic dropped a 6-3 decision to the East Tennessee (4-0) team of Jessica Brumit and Jayde Viccars at the No. 3 position.At the No. 1 slot, the pairing of senior Ornella Di Salvo and sophomore Hannah Tatlock fell 3-6, to the team of Lyn Yee Choo and Ana Gerbasi, clinching the doubles point for the Bucs.
In singles play, Di Salvo forced a first set tiebreak before falling to Reginka Nychytailova 7-6 (6), 6-2 at the No. 1 position while senior Vanessa Tavares dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision to the Bucs’ Gerbasi at the No. 3 slot. At No. 6 singles, Karac lost to Nayara Moraes 8-3 in a pro set.
The Lady Govs return the court when they host Western Kentucky, 4:00pm, Saturday February 7th, at the Austin Peay Indoor Tennis Center.
