Ramp to Remain Closed through Construction
Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will close the ramp from Interstate 24 eastbound (Exit 44B) to Interstate 65 northbound, north of Nashville, for construction.
Weather permitting, the ramp will close on Thursday, February 5th, at 8:00pm. The ramp will remain closed through October 2015.
Drivers may also take Exit 40 to SR 45 (Old Hickory Boulevard) to I-65 northbound. A map of the detour is attached. Message boards are in place to alert motorists to the ramp closure.
The long-term closure will allow crews to work on the inside lanes of I-65 northbound near the split. Due to the location of the ramp, it is not possible to maintain a lane of travel while work is underway.
This is part of the final stages of the widening project that will expand I-65 from six to ten lanes, from Trinity Lane to Dickerson Pike. The $50 million project is expected to be finished in October 2015.
