West Creek Lady Coyotes advance past Northeast Lady Eagles in District Tournament, 66-40

 

West Creek High School Coyotes - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The 2015 District 10-AAA Girls Basketball tournament tipped off Thursday night and the #4 West Creek Lady Coyotes (12-12) hosted the #5 Northeast Lady Eagles (12-17). A scoreless second quarter condemned the Lady Eagles and let the hungry Lady Coyotes run away with a 66-40 victory.

The Lady Coyotes did not play like a team that had lost three of their last four regular season games. Instead, they played one of their best games of the season. The Lady Coyotes scored their most points all season. Tyisha Worthy scored a double-double and led eight Lady Coyote scorers, including three with double-digit points.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – A hot start from the floor got Austin Peay State University off to a solid start against Eastern Illinois, Thursday, and the Lady Govs went wire-to-wire in polishing off the Panthers 83-72 in the Dunn Center to get back to .500 in conference play and sweep the season series against EIU.

Austin Peay State University Governors Basketball drops home game to Eastern Illinois Panthers, 66-55

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball has struggled offensively most of the season but Thursday night may have been its worst offensive performance this season.

The Governors shot just 23.3 percent (7 of 30) from the floor in the second half as Eastern Illinois pulled away for a 66-55 victory in Dave Aaron Arena.

Clarksville Montgomery County area TDOT Maintenance Work starting February 13th, 2015

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) reports on Saturday February 14th, from 7:00am until 12:00noon, there will be rolling roadblocks on I-24 westbound, between MM 11 and MM 8, in order to move equipment and material across the interstate.

This is part of the bridge replacement project over Interstate 24 (Exit 8) on State Route 237.

AAA says Crashes affect One in Three but Drivers continue to take Risks

 

Motorists Recognize Dangers but Do Little to Alter Behaviors says AAA Foundation

AAATampa, FL – Too many Americans report that they regularly speed, run red lights, use distracting devices or drive drowsy, despite the fact that one in three have a loved one who has been seriously injured or killed in a crash, according to the AAA Foundation’s latest Traffic Safety Culture Index.

The results further indicate that unsafe behaviors persist even though one in five drivers have themselves been involved in a serious crash, and one in ten has been seriously injured in a crash.
