Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team saw its season opening winless streak extend to six matches as the Lady Govs lost 6-1 to Lipscomb, Friday, at the Austin Peay Indoor Tennis Center.
In singles play, the Lady Govs were led by senior Ornella Di Salvo, who picked up a challenging 4-6, 7-6 (3), 10-5 victory against Hannah Gamage at the No. 1 position. Senior Jovana Karac dropped a hard fought 6-4, 6-2 decision against Danielle Kinnen at the No. 6 position while freshman Brittney Covington fell to Melissa Kromer 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 4 slot.
The Lady Govs will have a couple of weeks away from competition before they return to action with a 4:30pm, Friday, February 27th road contest against Southern Illinois in Carbondale, IL.
