APSU Lady Govs Basketball rally falls short in loss to Murray State Racers

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUMurray, KY – Facing a ‘win and you’re in’ scenario, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team couldn’t quite get over the hump, falling to Murray State, 72-67, Saturday, at the CFSB Center.

The Lady Govs battled back to take the lead in the game’s final moments, but were unable to sustain their success and keep the Racers from scoring in the end.

APSU Governors Baseball falls to Samford Bulldogs late rally 6-4

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUHomewood, AL – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team continued to create offensive opportunities, but could not cash in enough of them in a 6-4 loss to Samford, Saturday, at Joe Lee Griffin Field.

For the second straight game, Austin Peay (2-2) scored the game’s first runs.

District 10-AAA Basketball Tournament falls victim to Winter Weather

 

Montgomery County High School BasketballClarksville, TN – After a week of weather delays, and the Region 5-AAA Basketball Tournament looming, the District 10-AAA Basketball Tournament championship and consolation games have been cancelled.

With the cancellation, Rossview High School girls basketball team will be declared the tournament champions, followed by Henry County High School, Clarksville High School and West Creek High finishing second through fourth place.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports King Road Closed for Water Main Repair

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed King Road to repair a water main leak. Area residents may experience low water pressure and possible periods of water loss during the work.

The repair is anticipated to be finished and water service restored and the road reopened by approximately 5:30pm.

If you haven’t been in my classroom then you haven’t met the Lone Stranger

 

Clarksville, TN – Teaching music is an amazing adventure on a daily basis. You never know what is going to come out of a child’s imagination—or mouth! Any teacher will tell you that whatever a child thinks, he or she says aloud without any qualms whatsoever. Children’s minds are always imagining and they are testing out the world around them.

For instance, it is not unusual for kindergarten children to have a totally different idea of any word in the English language from the one you have. Take the day when I was playing the “William Tell Overture” and a little boy yelled out, “Listen! It’s the Lone Stranger!”

APSU Governors Football sign kicker Blake Levin

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – It took until Week 10 for Austin Peay State University’s football team to attempt a field goal.  The Govs are hopeful they have solved their kicking and punting concerns with the signing of Blake Levin.

The Cheyenne, Wyoming native will have three seasons of eligibility remaining after serving as kicker at Santa Barbara (CA) City College in 2014.
