Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission elects new Officers

 

Commissioner Griggs Honored for Tenure as chairman

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission has elected its new officers for 2015-16 and Jeff Griggs was honored for his tenure as the commission’s chairman for the past year.

Jim Bledsoe was named the TFWC’s new chairman. A Jamestown resident, he served as the group’s vice-chairman for the past year and as secretary the previous year.. He will preside over his first meeting as TFWC chairman in late March.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed a section of Main Street from North First Street to North Second Street to repair a water main leak. There may be low water pressure or periods of water loss during the work.

The repair is anticipated to be finished by approximately 11:30pm.

Red River at Port Royal under Flood Advisory

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Advisory for the Red River at Port Royal in Adams Tennessee.

At 6:00am Sunday, February 22nd, the Red River stage was 25.0 feet. Flood stage is 30.0 feet.

Cumberland River at Clarksville under Flood Advisory

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Advisory for the Cumberland River at Clarksville Tennessee.

At 6:00am Sunday, February 22nd, the Cumberland River stage was 38.6 feet and flood stage is 46.0 feet.

The river will continue to rise to near 43.0 feet by after midnight tomorrow, February 23rd.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUHomewood, AL – Left fielder Cayce Bredlau‘s second-inning grand slam catapulted Austin Peay State University’s baseball team to a 17-8 victory, Sunday afternoon at Joe Lee Griffin Field.

After having difficulty pushing in runs during the series’ first two games, Austin Peay (3-2) broke through quickly in Sunday’s series finale.

Clarksville Girls Softball Association to hold Fast Pitch Softball tryouts

 

Amateur Softball Association (ASA)Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Girls Softball Association will have girl’s fast pitch softball sign-up/tryouts at Swan Lake Sports Complex. Open to all girls ages 5-18 as of January 1st, 2015.

Cost is $70.00 first child, $55.00 for sibling. Ages 7-18 must tryout to ensure parity of all teams.

Signups/tryouts will be held Saturday, February 28th and March 7th, from 10:00am-2:00pm and Sunday, March 1st and March 8th, from 12:00pm-3:00pm.
