Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – If you have recently decided to purchasing a boat, or want to brush up on the safety precautions of boating, then come join Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit in the new boating safety class.

This class is good for all types of boats, motorized and non-motorized, and open to ages 12 and up. This class will cover topics such as the importance of wearing life jackets, safe boating practices, the right boat for you, the correct use of a VHF Radio, lines and knots, weather, and more.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) reports that a developing storm system will move across the gulf coast states this afternoon into tonight and produce accumulating snowfall across Clarksville-Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee.

For locations generally north of Interstate 40 and west of Interstate 65, snowfall accumulations are expected to be less than one inch.

Clarksville Police Department reports Clarksville Citizen falls victim to Mega Million Scam

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, February 24th, 2015 at 7:33pm, the Clarksville Police Department responded to an Obtaining By False Pretenses call at a Clarksville residence. The victim stated that at 8:30am he got a call from Micheal Anderson, who stated that he works for the “Mega Millions” and that he picked the victim’s name from a phone log.

Mr. Anderson told the victim that he had won 1.8 Million dollars, an SLX 550 Mercedes Benz, a gas card, and $5,000 dollars cash each month for two years from the Mega Millions. The victim stated that his wife sent a Money Gram from Walmart for the amount of $535.00 dollars to a Paris, AR address.
