APSU Governors Baseball’s OVC opening weekend against Eastern Illinois moved to Clarksville due to Weather

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team will play the opening weekend of its Ohio Valley Conference slate at Raymond C. Hand Park, Saturday-Monday, after poor field conditions at Eastern Illinois’ Coaches Stadium forced the series to be relocated.

The three-game set also will be moved back one day to accommodate Eastern Illinois’ travel schedule.

The series will begin with a 1:00pm, Saturday contest followed by 1:00pm outings both Sunday and Monday.

Despite the series being played in Clarksville, Eastern Illinois will remain the home team for the entire weekend, per OVC rules.

The games will be included as part of Austin Peay’s baseball season-ticket package. Tickets also may be purchased at the gate with adult tickets available for $5.00 and a youth/senior ticket available for $3.00.

In addition, the following changes were made to next week’s baseball schedule:

  • Austin Peay will host Indiana State in a 3:00pm, Tuesday, March 10th, contest at Raymond C. Hand Park. Originally, the Govs were scheduled to travel to Terre Haute, Indiana. Austin Peay will travel to Indiana State at a later date.
  • The Govs’ Wednesday, March 11th, contest against Southern Illinois – a rescheduled contest from February 18th – has been postponed again and will be rescheduled at a later date.
