Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Starting pitcher Jared Carkuff struck out a career-high 10 batters to lead Austin Peay State University’s baseball team to a 12-3 Ohio Valley Conference victory against Eastern Illinois, Monday afternoon at Raymond C. Hand Park. The Govs completed a sweep of the league-opening three-game set.

AAA reports Gas Prices decline for First Time in 40 Days

 

AAATampa, FL – The national average price for a gallon of gasoline declined for the first time in 40 days. The U.S. average rose 42 cents since January 27th, but dipped four-tenths of a cent Sunday.

“Motorists are beginning to see some relief at the pump after prices rose in response to increased oil prices and refinery maintenance season,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Gas prices have leveled out for now, but motorists may not be out of the woods yet. Prices should remain relatively volatile through the next couple months, but should decline after Memorial Day.”

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TNCarrie Daniels, who has served as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball coach for the last nine seasons, will not return in 2015-16. APSU Athletics Director Derek van der Merwe announced Monday her contract would not be renewed.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Buckeye Lane Closed for Water Main Repair

 

Monday, March 9th, 2015

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed Buckeye Lane between Spruce Drive and Chestnut Ridge Drive to repair a water main leak. Motorists will be directed to Spruce Drive and Chestnut Ridge Drive.

Area residents may experience low water pressure or possible water loss during the work.

The repair is anticipated to be finished and the road reopened and normal water service restored by approximately 5:30pm.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports Corbondale road shooting victim dies

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports One victim of an early Sunday morning shooting at a Corbondale Road party died last night.

Arianna Spencer, 19, of Clarksville, died at 10:32pm last night from injuries sustained from the shooting.
