VUMC To Provide All On-Field Sports Medicine & Event Medical Needs For Sounds Through Multi-Year Agreement

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club is excited to announce Vanderbilt University Medical Center as the first of the team’s three founding partners at brand-new First Tennessee Park, which opens next month.

Also, through Vanderbilt LifeFlight Event Medicine, VUMC will manage and provide EMT and paramedic level emergency medical services for spectators for all events at First Tennessee Park, a role it has fulfilled for the Sounds since 2009.

VUMC’s founding partnership of the Sounds’ state-of-the-art new home represents a landmark level of support at one of the finest ballparks in all of Minor League Baseball.

In addition to the close association the Sounds and VUMC will enjoy through the new agreement, Sounds players will make-in season visits to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt where they will visit with patients.

“The Sounds cannot be more proud of the relationship that has developed over the years with VUMC and we are extremely excited that they will be a founding partner at First Tennessee Park,” said Sounds COO Garry Arthur. “We appreciate this level of support being shown for our new look and venue. Vanderbilt’s strong medical track record is very important for our staff as well as for our Major League affiliate, the Oakland Athletics.”

“The Sounds and Vanderbilt University Medical Center are two great Nashville institutions. We’ve been proud Sounds sponsors since 2005. The opportunity to support the Sounds’ organization in new ways, and to continue to provide on-site urgent care for the attendees of ballgames and other events at this beautiful new facility is a natural fit for our role in the community,” said C. Wright Pinson, MBA, M.D., Deputy Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and CEO of the Vanderbilt Health System.

Season membership packages for First Tennessee Park are currently on sale. Opening Day is Friday, April 17th! Stop by the Sounds’ administrative offices at Greer Stadium or visit the team’s website at www.nashvillesounds.com to order or for further details.
