Tennessee Department of TransportationNashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will close lanes along short sections of Interstate 40 and Interstate 24 to pave the roadway.

These operations will likely create lengthy delays for traffic. Crews will alternate lane closures to repave multiple lanes. One lane will remain open at all times.

The work is scheduled as follows:

  • Monday March 16th through Wednesday March 18th, 9:00am to 3:00pm
There will be alternating lane closures on I-40 eastbound and westbound, between mile marker 196 (US 70S/ SR 1) in Bellevue and mile marker 205 (51st Avenue/ 46th Avenue) in west Nashville.

The closures are necessary to repair pavement that has been compromised by winter weather.

Message boards are in place to alert motorists to the road closures. TDOT HELP trucks will also be on-site to assist with traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and utilize alternate routes if possible.

The scheduled closures are weather dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent work from occurring as scheduled, the time will be adjusted or the work will be rescheduled.
