Austin Peay (10-7) will continue its search for answers offensively. The Govs were held to nine runs in last week’s four games, posting a 1-3 mark in those games.

Second baseman Garrett Copeland batted .375 (6-for-16) to lead the Govs at the plate in that four-game span and now has a team-best .351 batting average. First baseman Dre Gleason had four of APSU’s seven RBI during the week.

Left-hander Zach Hall (1-3) is penciled in as the starter for Wednesday’s contest. He started the recent four-game stretch by holding Tennessee to two runs in six innings, last Tuesday. Hall’s performance was the start of an impressive week for the Govs pitching staff, which posted a 1.91 earned-run average last week and limited hitters to a .207 batting average.

Southern Illinois (3-19) will seek to end a six-game losing streak in the midweek meeting with Austin Peay. Sophomore catcher Jake Hand is the Salukis leading hitter, batting .278 with a team-best 10 RBI. The Salukis have not named a probable starter for Wednesday’s affair.
