Clarksville’s Cowboy Dan’s Trading Post and Pawn Lassoes U-Haul Partnership

U HaulClarksville, TN – Cowboy Dan’s Trading Post and Pawn boasts a distinct western flare and inventory that sets it apart from your typical Tennessee pawn store.

“Our goal is to be different from others and to catch people’s attention when they come into our store,” co-owner Marsha Burkhart said.

Cowboy Dan’s carries western attire and boots, traditional pawn items, tools, electronics, jewelry and a wide variety of hunting equipment. A specific equestrian section is devoted to horse tack.

Now Burkhart has cleared room for a new line of equipment from U-Haul, the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and self-storage.

“U-Haul brings diversity to the store,” Burkhart said. “It’s an all around win-win situation.”

Cowboy Dan’s offers U-Haul trucks, trailers, towing equipment, support rental items, in-store pick-up for boxes and after-hours drop-off. The 416 Dover Road location is open 9:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday and 9:00am-5:00pm Saturday.

Burkhart’s husband came up with the idea of opening the pawn shop. He was an avid customer of local pawn shops for 20 years until most of them were bought out. He was discouraged by the change in inventory and decided to open his own shop with unique products.

One of the unique products at Cowboy Dan’s is the 1911 Gladiator .45 ACP, made by Maximus Arms of Franklin, Tennessee. The firearm is exclusively sold at Maximus Arms dealers.

Marsha Burkhart put her stamp on Cowboy Dan’s with a line of equestrian inventory, including western tack and riding equipment. Her daughter rides in barrel competitions.

U-Haul and Cowboy Dan’s are striving to benefit the environment through sustainability initiatives. Truck sharing is a core U-Haul sustainability business practice that allows individuals to access a fleet of trucks that is larger than what they could access on an individual basis.

Every U-Haul truck placed in a community helps keep 19 personally owned large-capacity vehicles, pickups, SUVs and vans off the road. Fewer vehicles means less traffic congestion, less pollution, less fuel burned and cleaner air.

Cowboy Dan’s is a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck. Upload your photo through Instagram using #uhaulfamous, or go to www.uhaulfamous.com to submit your photos and learn more.
