Regions Bank becomes Founding Supporter of Pathway Lending’s Women’s Business Center

Regions Bank and Regions Bank Foundation give a combined $75,000 to support Middle Tennessee women entrepreneurs

Pathway Women’s Business CenterNashville, TN – Pathway Women’s Business Center, a division of Pathway Lending that supports women entrepreneurs in the Nashville-Clarksville region, announced today that Regions Bank and Regions Foundation are founding supporters of the recently launched Center.

Regions Bank provided $50,000 in financial support and the Regions Foundation is contributing $25,000 as an educational partner for the Pathway Women’s Business Center.

“We are delighted to be a founding supporter of the Pathway Women’s Business Center and the work it will do—and has already begun,” said Jim Schmitz, Middle Tennessee president of Regions Bank. “As business in Middle Tennessee continues to boom, the Center will serve as a vital resource to build up women entrepreneurs in our community. With our support, we hope to lay a strong foundation for the Center that will positively impact countless businesses.”

The grant received from Regions Bank will be used to help offset the initial costs of launching the Pathway Women’s Business Center as well as assist in expanding its clientele and support across the community.

The contribution made by the Regions Foundation will help provide financial education resources and training opportunities.

For example, Pathway Women’s Business Center hosts a weekly educational series on topics such as financial management, record keeping and insurance.

In addition, it will host special events, the first of which is on April 1st in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank. Details and reservations for this event can be found at www.PathwayWBC.org/events

“The support from Regions Banks and Regions Foundation will open so many more doors for women business owners across Middle Tennessee,” said Amy Bunton, interim president of Pathway Women’s Business Center. “Together, we will provide new opportunities, education and training to emerging and veteran women entrepreneurs—and everyone in between.”

In November 2014, Pathway Lending was selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to launch one of only six new Women’s Business Centers, adding to the national network of more than 100 existing Centers. It began operations in January of this year and serves 16 counties including the Nashville-Clarksville region.

The Pathway Women’s Business Center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the SBA, which supports entrepreneurs nationwide through its various programs and services.

Women’s Business Centers, like Pathway Lending’s, tailor their services to the needs of individual communities and offer a variety of innovative programs.
