Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team continues Ohio Valley Conference competition when it hosts Belmont in a 10:00am, Friday contest before taking on Tennessee State in a 9:00am, Saturday match in Nashville, TN.
Austin Peay enters the weekend with a 10-4 record, and a 5-0 mark in OVC play. Last weekend, the Govs earned hard-fought home victories against Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky.Belmont (8-8, 3-3 OVC) enters the match fresh off of a Tuesday 6-1 victory against Eastern Illinois.
The Bruins are led by seniors Mauricio Antun and Marko Lovrinovic. Antun, the reigning OVC Player of the Year, has posted a 10-4 record this spring while Lovrinovic has recorded an 11-2 mark this season.
In its last match, TSU (0-11, 0-6 OVC) dropped a 5-2 decision against Alabama A&M. The Tigers are led by senior Darryl Hale and sophomore Kyle Burton, who occupy the top two singles positions.
After playing the Bruins and Tigers, the Govs will remain on the road to face off with Middle Tennessee in a 2:00pm, April 7th contest at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Complex.
