Austin Peay State University Governors Tennis ends OVC play at home against Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team concludes Ohio Valley Conference regular season play when it hosts Jacksonville State in a 2:00pm, Friday contest before taking on Tennessee Tech in an 11:00am, Saturday match at the Governors Tennis Courts.

Austin Peay enters the weekend with a 12-5 record, and a 7-0 mark in OVC play.

In their last match, the Govs dropped a 7-0 decision to Middle Tennessee, snapping an eight match winning streak.

In their last match, JSU (9-11, 4-3 OVC) dropped a 4-0 decision to Tennessee Tech, Tuesday. The Gamecocks are led by sophomores Dylan Gee and Jefferson Wendler-Filho. Gee, the reigning OVC Player of the Week, has posted a 6-0 record in the OVC this spring while Wendler-Filho has recorded a 5-3 record at No. 1 singles this season.

TTU (8-12, 6-1 OVC) enters the weekend fresh off of its Tuesday victory against JSU and are led by junior Alex Arovin and freshman Eduardo Mina. Arovin occupies the top spot in the Golden Eagles rotation while Mina has compiled a 6-0 record in OVC play this spring..

After playing the Gamecocks and Golden Eagles, the Govs will compete in the OVC Championships, which begins Friday, April 17th, in Nashville, TN.
