Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrests Thertrice Thomas from Clarksville for abusing vulnerable adult

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit arrested a former caregiver from Clarksville who is charged with abusing a vulnerable adult in her care.

After receiving information about a complaint of abuse, TBI Special Agents began investigating Thertrice Thomas on June 3rd, 2014. At that time, the victim resided in a supported living residence and Thomas was a caregiver for the victim.

During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that on April 11th, 2014, when Thomas and the victim were with others at a day outing in Clarksville, another caregiver witnessed Thomas assault the victim by slapping her and twisting her arm behind her back.

That individual reported the incident and Thomas’s employment was terminated.

On March 4th, the Montgomery County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Thertrice Thomas, 28, with one count of Willful Abuse or Neglect of a Vulnerable Adult.

Today, Thomas surrendered herself to TBI Agents. She was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and her bond was set at $20,000.
