Clarksville, TN – Sophomore Kaylnn Pitts, of the Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Pitts broke the school record for the third time in as many meets, posting a 12.92m (42’ 4.75”) mark in the triple jump at last weekend’s Memphis Tiger Invitational and placing runner-up behind only Memphis’ Chardae Greenlee, who ranks fifth in the nation entering this weekend.
Pitts is not too far behind her, however, ranking 15th nationally and 10th in the NCAA East Region in the event. Since establishing a 12.54m (41’ 1.75”) mark as her season-best at the Hilltopper Relays on April 11th, she has added more than a foot to her distance in less than a month.The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

- Sophomore Alex Robles, of the baseball team, threw a complete-game at UT Martin, Friday night, scattering eight hits and three earned runs and striking out nine for the win. He also hit his season’s second home run.
- Senior second baseman Laurel Burroughs, of the softball team, hit .417 (5-for-12) during her Senior Weekend and clubbed two home runs against Southeast Missouri, Sunday, in her final appearance in an Austin Peay uniform. She also stole three bases on the weekend, extending her program record to 23.
