TWRA announces New Long-Term Funding for Federal Trout Hatchery Operation, Stocking Program

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRAErwin, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GADNR) joined U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander and leaders from the Tennessee Valley Authority in an announcement to provide long-term funding for trout production and stocking in 13 TVA dam tailwaters and reservoirs in Tennessee and Georgia.

The announcement for the multi-agency agreement to the USFWS came in a press conference at the Erwin National Fish Hatchery on Monday (May 11th). The agreement ensures popular trout stocking programs in the region will continue beyond 2016, when a temporary TVA funding agreement reached in 2013 is set to expire. «Read the rest of this article»

Nashville Sounds come back to tie only to lose in extra innings to Round Rock Express 8-2

 

Rehabbing Outfielder Josh Hamilton Goes 0-For-4 In Second Game Back

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Sounds fought back late and tied it up, but Round Rock exploded for six runs in the 10th inning to take the series finale on Monday night at First Tennessee Park, 8-2.

The Sounds split the four-game series with Round Rock and fell to 2-2 in extra innings this season. The six runs in the 10th inning were the most allowed by Nashville pitchers this year.

Pitching did dominate the early part of the finale though. Round Rock grabbed a run in the first and one in the sixth, both off Sounds’ starter Kendall Graveman.

A series of Open House style meetings were held during the month of April in Clarksville, Ashland City, and North Nashville to introduce the Study.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team begins the regular-season’s final stretch when it travels to Lipscomb for a 6:00pm, Tuesday contest at Dugan Field in Nashville.

Austin Peay (24-25) will seek to get back to .500 on the campaign with Tuesday’s matchup – the third with Lipscomb this season. Austin Peay is just 5-6 in midweek outings this season and 7-13 on the road.

Clarksville Police Department releases further information on Lincoln Homes Shooting

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – In reference to the Ernest Shelton Drive incident Sunday night, May 10th, in which Clarksville Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a deceased person, the individual who was found with a single gunshot wound to the head inside his residence was 51-year-old Michael A. Ball.

A handgun was recovered at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about this incident who has not been interviewed by police is asked to contact Detective Mike Ulrey at 931.648.0656.

Clarksville Police Department releases Alcoholic Beverage Commission Operation results from May 7th, 2015

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday, May 7th, 2015, Alcohol Beverage Control Agents of the Clarksville Police Department Special Operations Unit conducted compliance checks on twenty-one businesses, targeting the sales of alcohol to persons under 21 years of age.

Sixteen of the businesses were found to be in compliance and five businesses were cited for sales of alcohol to persons under the legal age. The Clarksville Downtown Market will be open from 8:00am to 1:00pm every Saturday through October 17th on Public Square.

Clarksville Gas and Water closes part of Talley Drive to find Water Leak

 

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed Talley Drive from Crossland Avenue to Emory Street for water main line leak detection work. Traffic will be redirected to Clark Street and Crossland Avenue during the work.

The work is anticipated to be finished and the road reopened by approximately 2:30pm.

There is no evidence to suggest that anyone else is in danger from this incident or that there is a threat to the community.
