American Heart Association and WSMV Channel 4 bringing together panel from local Healthcare Systems
Nashville, TN – We know that stroke affects 795,000 Americans every year. But many of us don’t know much about stroke – or who to ask.
Here’s your chance to get answers from the experts.
The Together to End Stroke phone bank created by the American Heart Association and WSMV Channel 4 is happening on May 28th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
During this time, anyone can call in, ask a question about stroke and get answers directly from a local stroke expert on the phone panel. There is no charge to participate. The panel features more than half a dozen stroke professionals from Saint Thomas, Vanderbilt and TriStar, all joining together with the American Heart Association and Channel 4 to get lifesaving information about stroke to the public.
As a bonus, everyone who calls the Together to End Stroke phone bank with a question about stroke will receive a cookbook from the American Heart Association – absolutely free.
Questions anticipated as part of the phone bank are about what happens during a stroke, warning signs, what people should do if it happens, treatment, and where to go to connect with others or for more information. People can hear more about how to prevent a stroke, what the Number One risk factor is and how to control it, why time is of the essence, why your food makes a big difference, how exercise can help, and what lifestyle changes people can make to help themselves and their loved ones.
