The forward/winger competed in the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup for Colombia, appearing in three group stage matches against Azerbaijan, Canada, and Nigeria.

While playing under Diego Rodriguez at Gimnasio Femenino High School – the highest scoring team in the conference – Peñaloza was named to the all-state team four times. As a freshmen, she received the honor of being the best rookie on the state team.

While in the Colombian Women’s National Team system, Peñaloza received encouraging references from two former Austin Peay stars, Natalia and Tatiana Ariza. She will now follow in their footsteps of wearing the Lady Gov colors.

The addition of Peñaloza gives Austin Peay head coach Kelley Guth another promising player who will be called on to make plays in the attacking third. Combined with leading goal scorer Gina Fabbro and senior Shelby Olszewski, the Colombian will add even more young potential to the 2015 roster.

Peñaloza becomes the 10th player in the 2015 recruiting class. On February 4th, Austin Peay announced nine additions on National Signing Day.
