Clarksville Police reports Traffic Incident leads to Shots Fired on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 at 8:40pm, Clarksville Police Officers responded to a traffic incident that involved shots fired.

Samson Peltier, a 45-year-old Clarksville resident, was traveling north on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and was stopped at the traffic light at Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and Morris Road. A dark colored Jeep SUV rear-ended Peltier’s black pickup truck causing light damage to the rear bumper on the passenger side.

Samson Peltier was arrested for reckless endangerment Thursday night in Clarksville, TN.

Peltier and the unknown driver got out of their vehicles to look at the damage.

When the unknown driver found out the police had been notified, he got into his Jeep and attempted to flee the scene. Peltier placed himself in front of the unknown driver’s Jeep as he attempted to drive away and stated that he was almost hit.

Peltier then drew his handgun and fired it at the Jeep as it drove away. Peltier fired eight times hitting the Jeep an unknown amount of times leaving debris on the roadway. The driver of the Jeep Wrangler has not been located. It is not known at this time if the driver was hit.

Peltier has been charged with Reckless Endangerment and was booked into Montgomery County Jail.

This is an ongoing investigation. There is no further information at this time.
