The American Heart Association / American Stroke Association has put together some travel tips just for you.

Travel Tips

  1. Take your time and take breaks. Allow for airport time and driving breaks.
  2. Remember to take your medications, physician contact information and an alert bracelet, and give a brief medical history to your travel companion.
  3. Ask for assistance to get around in airports.
  4. Know where the nearest stroke center is. You can check online here: http://hospitalmaps.heart.org/AHAMAP/map/qimap.jsp
  5. Remember to request accessible seats and accommodations from airlines and hotels.
  6. Relax and enjoy your trip!
