Leaver earned a spot in the PGA tourney field by shooting a 5-under 67 Monday in the tourney qualifier.

He was one of four to qualify for the event out of 63 participants. Leaver, who turned pro in 2009, is attempting to make his first cut after two starts on the PGA Tour and seven starts on the Web.com Tour.

The Centerville native enjoyed an outstanding APSU golfer career, winning five tournaments along the way including three his senior season. In fact, he had seven Top 5 finishes during his senior season, earning him a bid to the 2008 NCAA Regional in Chattanooga.

Leaver was inducted into APSU’s Athletic Hall of Fame last winter.

The Auburn University Golf Club is the same site where former Govs golf great Marco Iten won the 2014 NCAA Auburn Regional. The tourney tees off Thursday morning.
