“Faculty and staff appreciation nights give us a chance to thank the people that are the backbone for our academic success as a department,” said head football coach Kirby Cannon.

For the fourth consecutive year, Austin Peay was named “one of the nation’s best colleges to work for” by The Chronicle of Higher Education – the only Tennessee university to make the 2015 list.

With that in mind, and in conjunction with Austin Peay’s ‘Be a Gov!’ initiative, athletics also will be sponsoring a ‘Gov of the Game’, honoring a faculty member who has been inspirational or gone the extra mile in contributing to the success of an APSU student. One faculty member will be honored at every home game in 2015.

“Austin Peay being named a “Great College to Work For” for the fourth straight year is no accident,” said director of athletics marketing Alaric Klinghard. “We always look forward to the opportunity to shine the spotlight on faculty and staff who make it all happen. This year, we give our faculty and staff a stage to say, ‘I am a Gov because…’. Those are the statements that make us who we are.”
