Artist Information

‘The World Through My Eyes’ by Eunice Kern.

The Downtown Artists Co-op (DAC) is proud to announce ‘The World Through My Eyes’ by member artist Eunice Kern. The opening reception for the exhibit will be on September 3rd from 5:00pm till 8:00pm. The DAC will be serving up fabulous appetizers, punch and wine during the opening.

The love of travel has inspired Eunice to interpret this exhibition using watercolors and silk designs. Many of the paintings were done en plein air while abroad. The remaining paintings were created in the studio using her collection of sketch books and photographs. The exhibition includes scenes from Austria, the Azores Islands, Colorado, Costa Rica, France, Scotland, Sicily, Turkey and Venice.

The exhibition will also include hand painted silk scarves designed by Eunice. Eunice continues to study with prominent artists working in watercolor or silk. Her paintings and silk designs are in private collections throughout the United States and Europe.

Eunice travels abroad yearly with her “artist family” to out-of-the way places led by well-known artist, Timothy J. Clark. They meet at a designated location abroad with art supplies and together they paint, visit museums, become one with the culture and scenery. She loves the children she meets when plein air painting. They will sit or stand by her and quietly watch her paint. At times there is a language barrier, but art is a universal language.

As always, the DAC opening is a central part of Clarksville’s First Thursday Art Walk, a wonderful evening of art, music and more in beautiful Historic Downtown Clarksville. First Thursday Art Walk occurs regularly on the first Thursday of each month.

The current exhibit will be on display the month of September. The DAC Gallery is located at 96 Franklin Street, in Downtown Clarksville, TN. DAC will be open Noon-4:00pm, Wednesday- Friday and 10:00am-6:00pm on Saturday. See our website at www.downtownartistsco-op.com or visit us on Facebook for more information.
