Austin Peay State University to be visited by Note Learning coach Gregg Goodhart

APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative ArtsClarksville, TN – Noted learning coach Gregg Goodhart will visit the Austin Peay State University campus September 22nd-23rd for a series of events sponsored by APSU’s Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts.

Recently named “Outstanding Educator of the Year” by the American String Teacher’s Association, Goodhart’s work focuses on learning and skill-acquisition as a function of brain function and neuroscience (rather than often misleading assumptions concerning ‘talent, ‘IQ’ and ‘giftedness’).

He has presented lectures at a wide range of national conferences, and he is the author of several articles featured in such publications as the American String Teachers Journal and the Journal of the Guitar Foundation of America.

During his time on campus, Goodhart will offer a public lecture, “The Art and Science of Learning Music and Anything Else,” at 7:30pm on Tuesday, September 22nd in the Mabry Concert Hall in the Music/Mass Communication Building. The lecture is free and open to the public.

For more information, please contact the APSU Department of Music at 931.220.7818.
