Prior to making the commitment Convergys Site Director, Andrew M. Tisoskey arranged for the Operations Managers to observe the group mentoring sessions.

Following the visit, Andrew said “At Convergys, we are committed to supporting our communities in helping to foster a stable, skilled and healthy community. Our business is people-focused, so we support key initiatives that are relevant to our clients, employees and communities. We support the LEAP/Dream Chasers organization because, like us, they are committed to helping people develop skills that can lead to careers. This type of partnership also helps promote stability and remove barriers and challenges for daily living. We look forward to this ongoing partnership.”

“Convergys will always hold a special place with me. They were one of the few companies that gave me an employment opportunity and recognized leadership potential in promoting me to management” reminisced LEAP Founder Richard “Reason” Garrett.

Richard is not the only former Convergys employee working for LEAP. Resource Coordinator, Dorlisha White also has roots with the company and had this to say, “We really appreciate Convergys generosity and willingness to roll up their sleeves to assist us in preparing our teens for the workforce. I learned a lot about myself and what working in a professional environment entailed from Convergys and look forward to working with the company again.”

LEAP’s career readiness program uses the evidenced based Jump Start Success curriculum from YouthWorks. When youth succeed, we all benefit. YouthWorks specializes in career exploration and workforce development programs and services for youth and teenagers to help them understand their career choices and succeed in preparing for their future.

“The LEAP Career program taught me how to search for a job and gave me the tools to be successful. Now I know how to write an on-target resume and cover and thank-you letters. And I know the ins and outs of applying and interviewing for a job” expressed LEAP Participant Kenny Corbin
