Tennessee Homeland Security recognizes local Responders

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County – As part of National Preparedness Month, the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security recognizes some of Tennessee’s most courageous and dedicated first responders from each Homeland Security District at a ceremony earlier this month in Nashville Tennessee.

The two first responders receiving the award (Governor’s Certificate) this year from Homeland Security District 7 is Lt. Dustin Haas with Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services and Officer Coz Minetos with the Clarksville Police Department.

Also at the ceremony, a local police officer was awarded the Three Stars of Tennessee Award, recognizing law enforcement, firefighters, and medical first responders that were either killed or suffered a career ending injury in the line of duty.

Detective Kagan Dindar from the Clarksville Police Department was given this award (posthumous). His wife, Jackie and daughter, Iyla accepted the award. Detective Dindar suffered a heart attack while on duty last year.
