Fort Campbell reports Temporary Closure of Gate 1, Lee Road Area

Fort Campbell, KY – On September 28th, Fort Campbell Gate 1 and Lee Road area will be closed due to lane-widening and other construction activities. The Fort Campbell Directorate of Public Works anticipates a 60-day temporary closure of Gate 1 to facilitate a timely execution of roadway improvements.

Included in the construction project are improvements on Gate 1, widening of Lee Road from Bastogne Avenue to 101st Airborne Division Road, improvements to the Family Resource Center overflow parking lot and the addition of a roundabout.

During the construction time frame, the Family Resource Center will remain open with half of the overflow parking lot on the south side of Lee Road available at all times. The FRC will be accessible from Bastogne Avenue only.

The Directorate of Emergency Services will establish a Traffic Control Point at the intersection of Bastogne Avenue and Carentan Road to assist with additional traffic flow. The TCP will be in place Monday through Friday, 5:30am until 9:30am and 11:30am until 1:30pm.

During the closure, Gate 2 will observe the operational schedule of Gate 1: Weekdays: 4:30am until 9:00pm; Weekends: 6:30am until 9:00pm; Day of No Scheduled Activities (DONSA): 4:30am until 9:00pm; Holidays: 4:30am until 9:00pm.

Pending weather delays, Gate 1 will reopen December 1st.
