Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Indoor Aquatic Center to open October 1st

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to enjoy the Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, this fall and winter!

Don’t let the upcoming cold weather keep you out of the pool, The Indoor Aquatic Center opens its doors for its Indoor Season on Thursday, October 1st.

For the first-timers who have never visited, there are restrooms and a locker room area available at the Indoor Aquatic Center.

Both men’s and women’s have slip-resistant flooring and ADA accessible stalls.

Hours of Operation

The facility will be open from 6:30am to 12:00pm and 3:30pm until 8:30pm Monday through Thursday. On Fridays the pool will be open from 6:30am to 12:00pm and 3:30pm until 6:00pm. Weekend hours are noon to 6:00pm on Saturdays and 1:00pm to 6:00pm on Sundays.

Admission and Rentals

Daily Admission to the Indoor Aquatic Center is $3.00 Monday through Friday and $5.00 on weekends. The Indoor Aquatic Center also offers weekly promotions to help patrons save money. Each Tuesday is $1.00 Admission Day, Wednesdays are “Water Play Wednesdays,” where patrons can enjoy Wibit and Aqua Climb access for free, and Thursdays are 2-for-1 Admission Day.

Year-Round and Indoor pool passes are currently on sale.  Passes can be purchased at the Parks and Recreation Main Office as well as at the Indoor Aquatic Center after the pool’s opening.  Visit www.cityofclarksville.com/aquatics for pool pass options.

Swim Lessons

The Indoor Aquatic Center offers six comprehensive levels as well as Mommy and Me, Preschool, Adult and Adaptive swim lessons.  Two-week sessions are held monthly.

Session dates are as follows:

  • October 5th-15th
  • November 2nd-12th
  • November 30th-December 10th
  • January 4th-14th

Cost per session is $15.00 for pool pass holders and $35.00 for non-pool pass holders. Registration begins the last day of the previous session of lessons and end the Wednesday prior to the session start date.

Water Fitness

The Indoor Aquatic Center is once again offering a variety of water fitness classes.  Basic Water Aerobics will be held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 5:00pm.  Deep Water Aerobics will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00pm.

Silver Splash, for those 50 years and older, will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:00am.  Maternity Aerobics, for expectant mothers, is available Mondays and Fridays at 5:00pm.

Cost per class $2.00 for pool pass holders and $4.00 for non-pool pass holders.

Aquatic Events

The Indoor Aquatic Center is also home to several special events such as Toddler Splash, which is held on the first Wednesday of the month and Homeschool Swim Day, held on the second Wednesday of the month, both from 10:00am until noon.
