Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

This weeks highlights include: Park Cleanup at the Robert Clark Park, One Frightful Night and PE to homeschool students.

Park Cleanup at the Robert Clark Park

Come out and Join Clarksville Parks and Recreation in cleaning up the park

Clarksvillians are encouraged to join in the beautification of one of the City’s favorite blueway access points. The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a cleanup at Robert Clark Park, located at 1449 Tiny Town Road, on Saturday, October 31st from 8:00am to 10:00am.

Our parks need constant maintenance, but to make it more fun, we schedule volunteer maintenance days throughout the year to keep them in shape. We hope you can join us in helping our Clarksville parks stay beautiful!

Groups as well as individuals are welcome to participate. To pre-register for the Park Cleanup, visit http://recpro.cityofclarksville.com

However, pre-registration is not necessary to participate in this opportunity, walk-ups are welcomed! Trash bags will be provided but participants may want to bring their own gloves.

One Frightful Night

One Frightful Night offers safe trick-or-treating October 31st

The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with Altra Federal Credit Union and the downtown businesses to present One Frightful Night, also known as Fright on Franklin, on Saturday, October 31st from 3:00pm to 6:00pm in downtown Clarksville.

One Frightful Night is a free, family-friendly event sponsored by Altra Federal Credit Union, featuring safe trick-or-treating, costume contests, and much more! Visitors will get to experience a Halloween treat throughout Historic Downtown including crafts and activities with local downtown businesses, food and drink, as well as the candy and events planned by Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department.

Program offers PE to homeschool students

The Crow Community Center and the Kleeman Community Center are excited to offer a new fitness program for homeschool students in grades K-12.

Crow Center:

Thursdays at 1:00pm – Grades K-6

Thursdays at 2:00pm – Grades 7-12

Kleeman Center:

Wednesdays at 10:00am – Grades K-6

Wednesdays at 11:00pm – Grades 7-12

The cost of the program is $3.00 per visit or $10.00 per month for each student. A Community Center ID is required. ID cards can be purchased for $5.00 and are valid for one calendar year at all three Community Centers.
