Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.

Friday, November 13th
Port Royal by Lantern
Time: 5:00pm – 8:00pm
Ages: All ages
Take a lantern guided tour through Port Royal State Historic Park and meet some of Port Royal’s most famous (and infamous) residents as they tell tales of the frontier, the Bell Witch, Night Riders and more!
Cost is $5.00 per person. Children under age 5 are free. You can pay in advance by credit card (call the Dunbar Cave office at 931.648.5526 Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 4:15pm), or pay cash only at the gate. Credit cards can NOT be used the nights of the event.
First tour leaves at 5:00pm. Tours leave every 20 minutes. Last tour leaves at 8:00pm.
Reservations are recommended to secure a tour time. Advance Registration deadline is 4:30pm November 12th.
A limited number of same day tickets may be available at the gate (cash only) but you might have to wait 1-3 hours for an opening.
Tours leave out from the River Bottom Trail Head.

Port Royal Birding
Time: 9:30am – 10:30am
Ages: 12 – adult
Bring your binoculars and learn the birds of Port Royal. Meet at the Visitor Center parking lot at Port Royal Historic Area.
Reservations Required by: 4:30pm, November 16th.

Night Hike
Time: 4:30pm – 6:00pm
Ages: All ages
We will walk the Short Loop Trail as darkness rises– we might hear owls, frogs and other creatures as we go.

Dunbar Cave State Park Programs Information
Programs are free unless noted otherwise. All programs require reservations by the Deadline Listed. Programs with no reservations by the deadline will be canceled.
All programs begin at the Visitor Center unless another site is listed.
Children must be accompanied by an adult (one adult for each three children).
Age limits are definite – please do not sign up a child who is younger or older than the age limits given.
