Clarksville under Freeze Watch for Friday night

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a freeze watch which is in effect from late Friday night through Saturday morning for Clarksville-Montgomery County and most of Middle Tennessee. Widespread freezing temperatures are expected Friday night.

A cold air mass will settle over the area Friday night and Saturday morning and will allow temperatures to drop to freezing at many locations. Areas of heavy frost will also be likely.

The freeze watch is in effect from late Friday night through Saturday morning. Temperatures are expected between 27 and 33 degrees.

This will impact vegetation left outdoors. Vegetation will likely be killed or suffer severe damage.

Instructions

A freeze watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Nursery owners should make plans now to protect plants and bring them indoors by sunset Friday.
