Small Game Seasons to Open at Land Between The Lakes December 1st

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Small game hunting season opens at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area beginning December 1st, 2015. Season dates and regulations differ from state-wide dates and regulations.

“Hunting is an important part of the recreation program at Land Between The Lakes, and small game hunting offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors during winter months,” said Steve Bloemer, Wildlife Program Manager.

All hunters age 16 and older must have a Land Between The Lakes Hunter Use Permit, an appropriate state license, and observe Land Between The Lakes’ regulations, applicable state laws regarding hunting zones, and Hunter safety requirements.

Small game hunters with dogs should be aware of information regarding Land Between The Lakes’ mid-January trapping season, also included in the small game publication. Night-time coyote hunting is not permitted at Land Between The Lakes.

Information is also available at the Golden Pond Visitor Center year-round, or North and South Welcome Stations, Wednesday through Sunday during November. Hunters can also call 270.924.2000 or 800.525.7077 and follow the prompts for hunting information.

North and South Welcome stations will close for the season beginning December 1st and reopen Wednesday through Sunday in March. Golden Pond Visitor Center will remain open daily, 9:00am-5:00pm (CST).
