Stewart County Fraternal Order of Police holds Shop with a Cop

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Law enforcement officers from eight middle Tennessee agencies filled the aisles of Walmart Thursday morning. They were there to help the Stewart County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) conduct their annual Shop with a Cop event.

Over 50 officers helped 64 underprivileged children from two Stewart County elementary schools shop. Each child was given a budget of $135.00. They were allowed to pick out toys, electronics, clothes, or food.

Funds for the event were raised from bass and soft ball tournaments, along with donations from local business, churches, and individuals.

The children were escorted to the Walmart on Fort Campbell Boulevard by officers, school administration, and local community members. Criminal Justice students from Stewart County High School also provided assistance.

The Stewart County Sheriff’s Office, Dover Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Cumberland City Police Department, 23rd Judicial Drug Task Force, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, and the Tennessee Valley Authority all participated in the event.

“Shop with a Cop is something we look forward to every year,” said Lodge 79 FOP President Shaun Noble. “It gives us an opportunity to give back to the community and help those most in need have a wonderful Christmas.”
