Senior Kymmalett Ross leads a nine-athlete contingent into a tightly-contested meet featuring athletes from Ohio Valley Conference rivals Tennessee State, Southeast Missouri, Belmont, Eastern Kentucky and SIU Edwardsville, as well as regional powers Cincinnati, Arkansas and Indiana.

Ross was runner-up in both the 60m and 200m dashes at last week’s ETSU Invitational and will get a chance to compete in both again this week—she ranks third in the OVC in both events entering the weekend. She finished fifth overall in the 60m event last season in Bloomington.

After earning a tie for first in the pole vault last week, freshman Dascha Hix will be re-joined by Savannah Amato, who was off last week, and sophomore Gretchen Rosch to give APSU a trio of vaulters with a chance to make an impact in the field events.

Junior Myiah Johnson looks to break into the finals in the 60m hurdles this season. At last year’s event, Johnson’s 9.04 preliminary mark left the Memphis native outside of the top eight and a spot in the finals by a tenth of a second.

Austin Peay will return with a full contingent of athlete’s at next weekend’s Thundering Herd Invitational, hosted by Marshall.
