TBI arrests Brian Bric of Palmyra for Aggravated Assault of Deputies in Waverly

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in a Montgomery County man facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, in connection with a 2015 shooting involving Humphreys County deputies.

On November 11th, 2015, at the request of 23rd District Attorney General Ray Crouch, TBI Special Agents began investigating an officer-involved shooting off Highway 13 in Waverly, TN.

Deputies with the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office were sent to a motorist assist call and encountered Brian Michael Bric fleeing from the scene into the woods.

The investigation revealed that while in the woods, Bric pointed a weapon at the officers and officers fired at Bric. Bric was struck multiple times and hospitalized. No deputies were injured.

On Monday, February 1st, 2016, the Humphreys County Grand Jury returned indictment charging Bric, 37, with four counts of Aggravated Assault, one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and one count of Evading Arrest.

On Friday, February 5th, 2016, Bric was transported from Montgomery County, where he was being held on unrelated charges, and booked into the Humphreys County Jail. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
