1 to 2 Inches of Snow now expected for Clarksville-Montgomery County

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as Cheatham County, Davidson County, Robertson County, and Wilson County. This advisory will be in effect until 6:00am CT Wednesday, February 10th, 2016.

With the passage of a strong cold front earlier today, a major pattern change is in store for Middle Tennessee. Mainly light snow will continue this evening into Tuesday and even into Tuesday evening across the Cumberland Plateau.

A light snowfall is expected for Clarksville-Montgomery County through Wednesday morning. Temperatures not expect to be above freezing until Thursday.

Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible, with locally higher amounts around 3 inches across the upper plateau and higher elevations.

In addition, wet roads and freezing temperatures can develop patches of ice along roadways. This combined with snowfall will create hazardous travel conditions across the advisory area.

The low tonight in Clarksville-Montgomery county is expect to reach 23°F.
